Day 5 - 41 mi: Josselin to Redon
What a sweet town Josselin turned out to be. The castle datng back to the 12th century and the old town gave it tons of of character.
Fortunately the sky was overcast and the temperature at least five degrees less than forecast so all in a very pleasant easy ride.
Our host Madame treated us to an excellent breakfast with super flaky croissant, pain au chocolat and lemon poppy seed cake. Her well restored home was a nice treat.
Today we mixed up our morning routine by leaving earlier which allowed for a café stop in the adorable medieval town of Malestroit. Only 10 Euros for all six café au laits!
Given it was Friday, there was even more activity on the trail with lots of bikers, walkers and even a high school track team that cheered Betsy on (Allez-y Madame!).
There even was a zip line park (perhaps the 3rd we've seen) with kids scaling cliffs and climbing about various heights.
Today was one of our longest rides yet but it seemed easy pedaling as the terrain was flat, the surface mostly paved and that café stopped helped to fuel us along. Having our fill of creperies, we popped into Intermarche for baguettes and cheese to complete the saucisson we've been lugging around for days and had a picnic along the canal bank.
Fortunately the sky was overcast and the temperature at least five degrees less than forecast so all in a very pleasant easy ride.
